Who does not love good looking, nourished hair? Especially in the fitness and sports arena where hair is constantly exposed to damaging factors like sun, chemicals, salt, sweat etc., care must be taken to feed, pamper and restore hair often.
Inoar SA has a wide range of stunning hair care products that nourish, restore, feed, and gloss up the hair. Their shampoos are sulphate-free, this is what hair loves to maintain its health.

INOAR_argan_ with bottle
In today’s amazing gift set GIVE AWAY comes the following items:

Argan Oil
This is the ultimate treat and restore for tired and exposed hair. It smells heavenly and boasts the highest percentage of Argan oil (9%). No wonder Argan oil is also known as “Liquid Gold”. Totally non-greasy it is bliss for hair softness. I use it as a heat protectant for blowing and ironing my hair. My men in the house use it to tame down fly-away, dry and damaged hair.

Argan Shampoo
A fresh and almost minty smell exudes when used to wash the hair. It leaves hair soft and manageable.

Argan Leave in Conditioner
A wonder for those “on the run” days when you can just apply the conditioner in the shower after the wash and run along and blow immediately. Leaving hair silky and full of movement.

Argan Hair Mask

This is the ultimate treat. I apply it when I have time to leave it on for an hour or so. This is deep feeding and nourishment at its best from the root to the tip of the hair. Good for male and female hair to replenish and recover all that was lost due to damaging elements.

PS – If you are a guy and do not care about your hair, or shave it all off – remember your WAGS 🙂 Wives and girlfriends (and moms), who would love to experience the hair luxury of Inoar.

INTERVIEW:

Q: Who are you, what sport or sports are you passionate about, and in what year were you born?

I am Duné Coetzee and was born in 2002. I’m passionate about swimming. I love most sports and love to watch and support, but my main passion is swimming.

Q: At what age did you start swimming and why?

I started swimming when I was a baby so that I could become water safe. At school I started swimming in galas when I was 7 years old. When I was 9 years old my parents decided I should join a club because I showed some natural ability. I enjoyed swimming ever since!

Q: Would you like to share some highlights about your own sports events so far?

My biggest highlight was at this year’s Level 3 National Championships in Port Elizabeth where I had some major personal successes.

I had a huge battle with Rebecca Meder from Western Province in the 200 meter Freestyle where we both dipped under the South African National Age Group record she had set just a month earlier. She out touched me by 0.09 split seconds which was hard to swallow as it would have been my first SA record. Before the race I dedicated the swim to my aunt who passed away a month earlier from cancer. I really wanted to win it for her! I knew it would be hard to beat Rebecca as she was the record holder and I was almost 6 seconds off her pace going into the race. But I decided to dedicate the hardest event for me to win to my aunt. She would have been extremely proud to see me battle it out with Rebecca!

Fortunately I managed to break two more SA records in the 100 meter Freestyle and 50 meter Butterfly events. I also just fell short of the 100 meter Butterfly record which was a bit disappointing but, considering everything, was still a huge accomplishment for me personally.

I qualified for the SA Short Course championships where I swam in finals with some of South Africa’s major senior swimmers like Karin Prinsloo, Rene Warnes and Vanessa Mohr.

Q: If you were not going to be involved in swimming, what sport do you think you would be involved in?

I would have loved to play tennis. I just haven’t ever done it, so I have no way of knowing whether I’d be any good. But seeing how competitive the game is, I’m sure I would have loved it.

Q: Tell me a little bit about your home and school life?

I’ve got a sister Lise who also swims and whom I love very much. I can’t wait for her to also develop into the swimmer she can be. It is a dream for both of us to represent South Africa at international level one day. My mom and dad work very hard to make our dreams come true. For this I’m very thankful.

I’m in grade 7 in Laerskool Anton van Wouw. I’m really privileged to be in one of the best schools in Pretoria! Our school has won the Inter-Schools swimming competition for 10 years in a row. This year I hope to lead them to an eleventh title.

Q: How do you manage to fit in both sports and academics into your schedule?

To swim at the level I dream of takes a huge amount of discipline. So the foundation for being disciplined has been laid since I was very young. This makes it easier to handle all the other commitments like school work around my swimming schedule. I use every available moment before I start training after school to do my homework. After practice I sit and study or finishing up homework till late in the evening. Weekends are also the ideal time to catch up on homework when I’m behind.

Q: Tell me about what you like to do to relax?

Lie around doing nothing and listening to music – I love it!! Eating whatever I see when I come home from practice. Chatting with my friends on Whatsapp and social media.

Q: What is your favorite food? And who must cook it?

That’s easy – Lasagne cooked by my mom, Monica Coetzee.

Q: Who is your sports hero?  What have you learned from him / her?

Missy Franklin especially after her 5 medals at the 2012 Olympics and more recently Katie Ledecky after her 5 medals at the World Champs in 2015.

From Ledecky I’ve learned that there really is no limit on what you can achieve. She is a true inspiration for me to try my best every time I race.

I watched Missy’s movie – Touch the Wall. There is a heap of stuff I’m learning from her in the movie. I’m so glad she made the movie!

And locally my hero is Karin Prinsloo. I had the privilege to meet Karin after she returned from London Olympics in 2012. At the time I was just in awe of her and the rest of the team. Little did I know that our paths would cross two years later. I’m a lucky girl to get to know her and to train in the same pool as she does every day!

Q: Name one person who made a difference in your life and why?

I can’t pick one – My parents, mom and dad. They believe in me more than anyone in this world and I feel like I’m supported more than any other swimmer I know.

Q: What is your personal favourite motivational quote?

Don’t put a limit on anything. The more you dream the further you’ll go. – Michael Phelps

Q: What is your favourite Bible Verse?

Romains 8: 37 – 39.

  1. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
  2. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
  3. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Q: You are mentored by one of SA’s top swimmers and Olympian, Karin Prinsloo. What has this done for your swimming and the way you see life as an athlete and life in general?

Firstly, I want to thank Karin for agreeing to work with me. It is a huge privilege and something I can’t easily repay. I’ve been working with Karin for almost a year now. She is an amazing person and I hope that when I grow up people will look up to me like I do to her. For me she is a prime example of a daughter of Christ. I can’t wait to grow up and hopefully become just like the person she is, humble and faithful.

From a swimming perspective, she teaches me all the things that don’t get taught in the water. For me this is just as important as it is to practice my swimming. She has a lot of experience gained throughout her career and transferring this to me helps me to be prepared for most things that will come my way. I look forward to keep on working with her and I know she will help me a lot.

Q: At this point and time – what do you love most about your life in general?

Being a child in my parents’ house with all the blessings which I receive daily.

Q: For the rest of the year ahead, what are you looking forward to the most concerning your swimming?

I have been fortunate to be selected for the Junior African Championships in Cairo, Egypt from 17 to 20 October 2015. This will be my first international competition representing South Africa which is a huge honor for me and for which I’m training very hard.

Q: Anything else you would like to share?

I love drawing and would love to develop my art skills when I’m in high school next year. I have been accepted by Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool Pretoria (Affies) – something I’m very proud off and looking forward to.

I’ve also trained with Dominique Donner during holidays at the coast. She is a great coach for the Seals club in Ballito and I’ve made many friends in her club – they are a cool bunch of swimmers!

Oh – and I have the best coach in the world – Linda De Jager!

Hard work and perseverance. Never giving up on reaching the goals I set for myself.

It all started when my Grade 1 teacher asked me to join the Athletics training after playing wing and being one of the fastest kids in Gr1.

Q: What is the highest accolade that you have achieved in Athletics and what is your greatest personal accomplishment?

Q: Do you have any specific regimens or rituals in athletics?

I mostly believe in hard work and whenever training to give it your all. It’s important to look at what you eat but I never get obsessed about my diet.

Q: You have traveled outside SA before, what are you highlights of these travels, and what does travelling do for your mindset/ perspective on things?

Being able to see the world makes all the hard work worth while, seeing things like the Eifel Tower and the Great Wall of China is special.

Q: You have represented Team SA for Athletics before, where did you go and how did you experience it?

I have been to African countries like Botswana, Lesotho and Benine and it made me realize how blessed we are seeing the life’s of the people there. It’s a real tough one. You don’t always manage and there’s always days where you wonder how will you get everything done. Some people help you and others don’t. INTERVIEW:

Q: You are proudly our SA Men’s Water Polo Captain, one of our top goal scorers, passionate and doing brilliantly in Water Polo.  Tell me a little bit about how you started in Water Polo, and your journey in the Water Polo arena up to now?

I was always a swimmer and when I joined my high school they offered water polo and that’s where it all began. I had a very passionate coach, Karl Niehaus that lit the fire that burns inside me now to do well for my team and country.

Q: To carry the joyous burden of captainship is an honour, and shows true leadership in and out of the water. What is your motto as a leader / captain and why?

Be open, be approachable,   lead by example and always be willing to learn from those around you. Everyone has skills that can be used to improve a situation and everyone is around you for a reason, so never inhibit them.

Q: What is the highest accolade that Team SA has achieve in your time as captain?

Top 12 world ranking and a gold medal in a European tournament. A first in SA Water Polo history.

Q: You are also passionate and involved in coaching our precious youth, how is that going for you?

It’s become my life career. I love coaching young talented players and watching them grow. At the last FINA World championships, Nicholas Hock I actually coached at U15 and 1st Team level. So what a pleasure to see a player you helped produce reach the National team.

Q: Personally, do you have any specific regimens or rituals in the time leading up to a big game? Maybe a particular diet / training method that can be partially attributed to your success?

Eat well. Take care of your body. Listen to your body. Keep a strong mind and surround yourself with the right kind of people. A negative mind will never give you a positive result.

Q: I believe you are very strong on the mental side of the game / game prep, would you like to share a little about this?

It’s all about positivity and believing in your ability. Through hard work at training, this is made a lot easier because you know what you can do and where your limits are.

Q: Congratulations on Team SA’s achievements and performances at FINA World Championships recently in Kazan, what are your highlights of the latter?

A good win against Argentina in the opener of course, securing that top 12 finish and the 2nd game against Kazakhstan, showing how much we improved over the tournament.

IMG_18212124968395

Q: What is the one thing that you always bring back from each international Water Polo Meet / Championship?

I set myself goals each time to be competitive against the best players in the world. In my training I prepare to face them and after each tournament I evaluate where I need to improve my training and game play.

Q: How do you manage to fit in both sports and academics / job/ family into your schedule?

It is all about a balance. You need to train hard, but also have down time. You need to spend hours with your team mates in the pool but also time with your family. You need to find time for gym and swim every day but also to work and pay the bills. It’s an ongoing balancing act.

Q: Beside your Water Polo, what do you have a passion for?

I love to travel and I love to spend time with my family

Q: What do you do to relax?

I play a lot of tennis, soccer and relax with my family and friends.

Q: Which athlete/ athletes inspire you?

Roger Federer – no matter his age, always a gentleman and an athlete.

Q: What is your personal favourite motivational quote?

Everyone has limits…but not everyone accepts them

Q: You lived in abroad in France during the 2008/2009 season, pursuing your Water Polo. How did you experience that?

What a wonderful challenge and great experience to be a professional water polo player. It was tough in the beginning but once you adapt, an absolute treat to play and be treated like a pro.

IMG_4758-20141012-092655296

Q: What is your biggest challenge, and what do you do to manage this challenge?

Keeping a balance in my life. It is an ongoing challenge, so always need to work at it

Q: When an athlete hits some “hard” / difficult patch in their sports career, what goes through your mind at that time? What advice can you give other Young Athletes in this regard?

Never be afraid to ask for help and let those that have faced hard times before guide you. In sport you have to trust, even more so in a team sport. So use those around you to alleviate the tough times and get you back on track.

Q: I’m sure you have many things going on right now, what’s to be expected next from you?

INTERVIEW:

Q: You are passionate and doing so well in your Swimming, tell me a little bit about how you started in Swimming and your journey in the Swimming arena up to now?

Started to learn swim when I was 2 years old. I started swimming competitively when I was 6 years old, and that’s when I started to love swimming. When I was 12 years old I made the Senior National Team and I think that’s what really gave me a boost and just motivated me to train harder and harder. My love for open water swimming started after I did my first mid-air mile. I got my Protea colours when I was 16 years old when I went to Hungary for Junior open water Champs where I came 8th overall. My greatest achievement so far is making the SA team for World Champs in Kazan Russia this year; the experience is what counts the most and you can learn so much from the best in the world.

Q: What are your highlights of these travels, and what does travelling do for your mindset/ perspective on things?

All the international competitions I have been too I have learnt so much already and it has been such great experiences and it also a great way to measure against the best in the world. You also learn about other countries and their cultures, which makes it quite interesting to travel.

Q: Do you have any specific regimens or rituals in Swimming?

I don’t do anything specific before racing. I think the main thing is to try and keep yourself calm and focused. I eat a lot of protein, fruits, vegetables, but not a lot of carbs. I also try not to eat any sugar and rather replace it with sweeteners.

Q: How do you manage to fit in both sports and academics / work into your schedule?

I started doing homeschooling in grade 9 and I think it has been such a great help in my swimming career, although it is still hard getting all the work done.

Q: Beside your swimming what do you have a passion for?

Children, animals and helping others.

Q: Tell me one thing about yourself that the world does not know?

Im a little bit of a perfectionist and like doing things the right way.

Q: Would you like to share a little bit more about your faith journey and how it has affected your life / sports?

I was fortunate enough to have been raised in a Christian home. Later in my life I committed myself to the Lord and that’s where all my strength comes from. I would have not been able to come this far in my life and my swimming career if it wasn’t for the Grace and the provision of God in my life.
IMG_20150410_180613

What do you do to relax?

Spend time with my family, go and watch a movie, shopping, or just listening to music.

Q: Which athlete/ athletes inspire you?

Kerri-anne Payne, Penny Heyns and Natalie Du Toit

Q: What is your personal favourite motivational quote?

“ If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you!”

Q: What is your favourite Bible / Scripture quote?

Romans 8:28 – And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

No Pain No Gain. Always strive to be better and never quit.

Q: What is your biggest challenge, and what do you do to manage this challenge?

My biggest challenge is to keep healthy and train every day. So to manage that a healthy diet is of utmost importance.

Q: When you’ve had a tough or bad day, what lifts you up again?

I find that training refreshes my whole body and mind.

Q: I’m sure you have many things going on right now, what’s to be expected next from you?

I’m busy preparing for Junior World Champs in Singapore in two weeks, and trying to recover from the 15km’s of racing in Russia last month so that I can give it my best in Singapore.

INTERVIEW

Q: You are passionate and doing so well in your water polo, tell me a little bit about how you started and your journey in the water polo arena up to now?

It stemmed all from my school days. I had passionate coaches with a sport they loved. I think that it rubbed off of me too. Now days everything revolves around polo. It had a huge influence on my life choices. After high school my university club coach Stanislav Gospodinov really helped develop me to the player I am today both in confidence and ability. My current coach now has also been critical in my water polo just advancing to new levels. Added to that, the club team members  I have are like no other! The guys drive one another and push each other always. I guess that leads up to where we are today. Our club is national champions (11/13 times since the clubs inception),  old Edwardian champs and all good friends!

Q: What is the highest accolade that you have achieved in water polo and what is your greatest personal accomplishment?

I play for the men’s national side since 2013. It’s a team sport so I guess best accomplishment has to be winning the European 8 nations tournament in Denmark earlier this year.

Q: You are just back from Kazan where you and your team mates rocked the boat a bit! Congrats! Please may you share a little about your and the team’s experience in  Kazan?

Thank you 🙂 Kazan was amazing – to play against elite players of that nature are just humbling! It is a constant reminder of how much more work we can do here in SA. The Team vibe was amazing – during my first debut in Barca two years ago, each training camp, each tournament there after we have just grown together with the guys. Again to play with the worlds best we learnt a hell of a lot!

Q: Tell me about your club and your training / competition approach with kids/ athletes that you train? Age range?
My Club is Based in Randburg – We train out of Rand Park High School. We are very new to the scene (two years of age) but wanted to provide for opportunity for athletes in the area. We train Swimmers and Water polo athletes.
As for my approach to training and competition it is a little different for our kids as opposed to our older athletes.
For our kids its about fostering love and enjoyment for the sport – obviously winning is the cherry on top – but winning is not the goal. Our older athletes have a bit more focus on competition although its ultimately about developing and improving ones own ability. Our ladies club is amongst the top and contains a few national athletes as well. Its an absolute pleasure training them.
Our age range is – from 7/8 upwards

Q: You have travelled outside SA before, what are your highlights of these travels,  and what does travelling do for your mindset/ perspective on things?

It’s a huge eye opener. Having the opportunity to play for your country is a huge honour. It’s also always so exciting being able to visit and experience new places. As for perspective and mindset. I believe it does develop you as an individual. It’s just so amazing to see what each country is able to give to water polo. Some places are just mind blowing.

Q: How do you manage to fit in sports and work  into your schedule?

I think one needs to make time. I’m fortunate to have a lot of flexible hours so it’s not too bad to fit training in. I run my own club so if I can’t get to train I can do it there!

Q: Beside your water polo what do you have a passion for?

I can be a little nerd at times playing games. But I love to cook!

Q: What do you do to relax?

Play PlayStation, watch TV, visit friends and cook

Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

Humble in victory, lessons to learn in defeat

Q: What is your biggest challenge, and what do you do to manage this challenge?

Water polo has many facets to the sport. Keeping each point up there takes a lot of time training and assessment.

Q: When you’ve had a tough day, what lifts you up again?

My girlfriend has also played at the top level of water polo. So Claire knows me quite well and always is able to be the shoulder to lean on. I also have two good team mates that are able to just lift the spirits.

Q: I’m sure you have many things going on right now, what’s to be expected next from you?

Complete my PGCE and Masters in Sports Science.

Thank you so much for taking this interview. We would like to wish you all the best for your journey ahead. We look forward to following you as you go from strength to strength. Blessings!
