Thanksgiving 2015

Today is Thanksgiving Day. With grateful hearts we reflect on the many mercies, blessings, opportunities and goodness that has been bestowed upon us during 2015. We have asked our Heslop Sports athletes to share what is on their hearts THIS THANKSGIVING 2015. The pure and humble hearted responses have moved and inspired me again and I am so grateful for each and every athlete that has come into our lives this 2015. Athletes, we salute you. Your stories continue to inspire, motivate and spur us on. YOU ARE THE UNSTOPABLE FORCE BEHIND HESLOP SPORTS, YOU ARE OUR WHY! THANK YOU!

Thanksgiving Message from Karin Prinsloo

For my support system – it’s been the toughest year in my swimming career and I honestly wouldn’t have made  it without my family, friends and wonderful man in my life 😉 truly grateful for them all. God is good all the time. All the time God is good.

Thanksgiving Message from Dean Whyte

At this moment in my life it has to be friends and family! The ones that are always there for me and even with our busy schedules they still find the time and day for one another.

Thanksgiving Message from Carla Johnson

I’m most grateful for getting as far as being a matriculant…that the Lord has carried me through all the ups and downs and I can still stand up knowing that if it wasn’t for God I wouldn’t have been the person that I am today…. I’m grateful for opening my eyes everyday and that I can breathe because many didn’t have the opportunity to do that .. I’m also grateful for having my mother and everyone else that strongly supports me in everything I do… I’m just grateful for the life that God has given me.

Thanksgiving Message from Yuvish Premlall

I am most grateful and humbled to be healthy, for my family, for the many lessons I’ve learned and the opportunity to learn more, for the many milestones I’ve achieved, for the friends that surround me and for everything that I have.

I’m always grateful for the opportunities my parents have allowed me to experience. They have done their best to always make sure I am the best that I can be.

I’m grateful for wonderful friends and their parents, who have believed in me and my abilities and have supported & sponsored me along the way.

I am grateful for 2015 that has let me see the world and become the head boy of my school.

God has great plans for me, and for that I will be forever grateful.

Thanksgiving Message from Adri Visser

In my life I have accomplished so much in my sports career as a elite paralympic swimmer and as a student, I’m standing on top of a mountain where I’m striving for my biggest dream of Rio Paralympics 2016 and being accepted in a Honours program for Biokinetics next year and that means so much to me.  Mostly I’m really blessed to be a child of God where His Grace is so much upon my life and I’m so very thankful to have such amazing friends and family who support me in everything that I set my mind too.  I’m having a blast and I’m really blessed xxx

Thanksgiving Message from Daniela Lindemeier

The first thing in life I will always be thankful for is being healthy, sometimes we take that for granted.
Otherwise at this point I’m really blessed to be able to do what I love to, swimming and being at a good stage in my swimming right now. – having such a close support system family , friends obviously coaches ha ha, and especially my mom. It wouldn’t be possible without them.

Thanksgiving Message from Rivaldo Roberts

I’m grateful for my parents and brother, those are the people who have been supporting me my whole life and will keep on doing so. Thankful for friends who are with me when my parents can’t be. They support me so much and I’m very thankful for that. Family, who supports me as well and motivates me. I’m thankful for everyone around me contributing or has contributed to my success. Training partners who always push me . I’m thankful for my coach Irma Reyneke who took me under her wing and helps me everyday to improve. Thankful for two other special people in my life, Riana Raath and Hanno Roux. Thus far they have played the biggest role in my success. They discovered and developed me to the athlete I am today and have taught me a lot about life. Thankful for my teacher in primary school who taught me how to run hurdles. Thankful for everyone .

Thanksgiving Message from Jessica Jenkinson

I am the most grateful for being able to excel in my sports the way I do, despite having a serious heart condition. I am healthy and feel great and am so thankful that Jesus is looking after me so well every single day when I exercise.  My heart never skips a beat because it’s beating for Jesus. I am grateful that I have a mommy and daddy that love me and teachers that can teach me to be the best person I can be.  I am grateful that I am so blessed to have a house and a warm bed to sleep in and never having to go hungry and being scared.

I think I am the most blessed little girl in the whole wide world and will always be thankful for that.

Thanksgiving Message from Carissa van Rooyen

I am most grateful for being given another chance everyday to work to my full potential and show people how great the Lords’ creations are and how limitless your potential is.

Thanksgiving Message from Dune Coetzee

I’m thankful of all the normal teenage stuff in my life like music, sisterhood, friends and parents who care for me. But recently I’ve learned more and more about the prosecution of Christians all over the world and I am especially thankful that I am allowed to pray and read my bible anywhere, anytime and any place. I’ve taken this for granted and sometimes still do.
