| Highlights of the event? | My highlight was coming from behind after my little mistake in the transition which left me about 25m behind in the swimming leg, and still winning the race. |
| Lessons learned from the event? | I learnt that you must always take an extra split second to make sure of your actions.
During my transition I threw my shoe into the basket and dove into the pool, not noticing that my shoe hit my other shoe and landed out the basket. Luckily I was called back to put it back into the basket and wasn’t disqualified, but it cost me valuable time. |
| General observations and vibe of the meet? | There was a great turn out, the biggest for a Gauteng Biathle Championship event. There were close to 160 athletes taking part. |
| What/Who motivated you throughout the champs? | It was a combination of family support, friends and the crowd in general. |
| Biggest challenge leading up to / at the meet? | Trying to find the right balance between different training programs. |
| What is happening next for you in sport? | The 2016 South African Biathle/Triathle/Laser-Run Championships in Bela-Bela |
| Anything Else you want to mention? | I will be participating in my first competitive Triathle event at the S.A. championships this year and I’m looking forward to it very much. |
