Today is Thanksgiving Day. With grateful hearts we reflect on the many mercies, blessings, opportunities and goodness that has been bestowed upon us during 2015. We have asked our Heslop Sports athletes to share what is on their hearts THIS THANKSGIVING 2015. The pure and humble hearted responses have moved and inspired me again and I am so grateful for each and every athlete that has come into our lives this 2015. Athletes, we salute you. Your stories continue to inspire, motivate and spur us on. YOU ARE THE UNSTOPABLE FORCE BEHIND HESLOP SPORTS, YOU ARE OUR WHY! THANK YOU!

For my support system – it’s been the toughest year in my swimming career and I honestly wouldn’t have made it without my family, friends and wonderful man in my life 😉 truly grateful for them all. God is good all the time. All the time God is good.

At this moment in my life it has to be friends and family! The ones that are always there for me and even with our busy schedules they still find the time and day for one another.
Thanksgiving Message from Carla Johnson
I’m most grateful for getting as far as being a matriculant…that the Lord has carried me through all the ups and downs and I can still stand up knowing that if it wasn’t for God I wouldn’t have been the person that I am today…. I’m grateful for opening my eyes everyday and that I can breathe because many didn’t have the opportunity to do that .. I’m also grateful for having my mother and everyone else that strongly supports me in everything I do… I’m just grateful for the life that God has given me.

Thanksgiving Message from Adri Visser
In my life I have accomplished so much in my sports career as a elite paralympic swimmer and as a student, I’m standing on top of a mountain where I’m striving for my biggest dream of Rio Paralympics 2016 and being accepted in a Honours program for Biokinetics next year and that means so much to me. Mostly I’m really blessed to be a child of God where His Grace is so much upon my life and I’m so very thankful to have such amazing friends and family who support me in everything that I set my mind too. I’m having a blast and I’m really blessed xxx

I am the most grateful for being able to excel in my sports the way I do, despite having a serious heart condition. I am healthy and feel great and am so thankful that Jesus is looking after me so well every single day when I exercise. My heart never skips a beat because it’s beating for Jesus. I am grateful that I have a mommy and daddy that love me and teachers that can teach me to be the best person I can be. I am grateful that I am so blessed to have a house and a warm bed to sleep in and never having to go hungry and being scared.
I think I am the most blessed little girl in the whole wide world and will always be thankful for that.

Thanksgiving Message from Dune Coetzee
I’m thankful of all the normal teenage stuff in my life like music, sisterhood, friends and parents who care for me. But recently I’ve learned more and more about the prosecution of Christians all over the world and I am especially thankful that I am allowed to pray and read my bible anywhere, anytime and any place. I’ve taken this for granted and sometimes still do.
Thanksgiving Message from Ruan Ras
